Many companies are flying to Sweden and the major cities like Stockholm, Malmö and Göteborg. For travelling to Backe the best option is perhaps to fly to Stockholm and then travel by rented car, train or bus to either Östersund or Sundsvall and then go from there to Backe. It is also possible to fly within Sweden, e.g. from Stockholm to Sundsvall although it is generally a more expensive option. Why not combine the travel with a short citybreak in Stockholm, Sundsvall or Östersund if you don´t feel like making the whole trip in a single day? Backe is also a good base point for people wanting to explore Lappland which is less than an hour away!

By flight to Stockholm

Flight to Stockholm, Östersund or Vilhelmina airport with Scandinavian airlines (SAS and Norwegian) or International airlines (Ryanair, Wizzair, KTM and more).
Arrive at Arlanda or Skavsta airport, and take the transfer bus to Stockholm cityterminalen. Prices for transfer bus from 99kr.

By train from Stockholm to Sundsvall or Östersund

Bus or train to Sundsvall or Östersund. Prices from 220kr (Time of travel ca 5 hours).

By bus from Sundsvall or Östersund to Backe

Bus from Sundsvall or Östersund to Backe (Strömsunds kommun). Visit Länstrafiken reseplaneraren for time tables.
Take bus 331 from Sundsvall trainstation or busstation (Navet) to Sollefteå busstation and change to bus 39 towards Hoting and get off at Backe busstation
Prices from 200kr (Time of travel ca 5 hours with one hour waiting in between). Or Take bus 142 from Östersund busstation to Strömsund busstation and change to bus 422 towards Hoting and get off at Backe busstation (Time of travel 2hours 45min).

By car all the way to Backe

An alternative to the above is to take your own car or rent a car at the airport and drive here. The time of travel is about 7 hours from Stockholm or a 19 hour adventure from Berlin or 22 and a half hour from Amsterdam!
